Profile
Adam Vukmanov is Serbo-Croatian architect, currently based in London. He has received his master degree in architecture with honours in Greg Lynn's master class at University of Applied Arts (dieAngewandte), Vienna, in June 2009. His continuous research in architecture is focused on morphologies of natural and organic systems, and their application in performance-oriented-design. His creations and ideas are greatly influenced by cultural, biological and technological environment. Currently, Adam is working as Design Architect at ACME - a young international architectural practice based in London - primarily focusing on advanced facade design and innovation in efficient rapid fabrication. Previously, he has been working at Span-arch in Vienna where he was involved in design development and construction of Austrian EXPO pavilion in Shanghai. He was also working at Different Futures on construction phase of Spaceship entertainment centre in Stuttgart (the largest CNC milled foam structure) and was in design team of Greg Lynn's BMW Design centre proposal. Adam has been student assistant at University of Applied Arts in Vienna for several years and is currently visiting lecturer and critique at Southern Californian Institute of Architecture, OTIS Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, Lund University in Sweden and as of fall 2011, at the Architectural Association in London. He won several prizes for his projects and has recently finished MAK Schindler residency program in Los Angeles for independent research project together with Julia Koerner.
