Using the branching system in concert halls organizational type and its specific nesting volume in general form, this project is both redefining the urban condition on highly frequent and attractive spot in Vienna and the usage of public space within created geometry. Designed and organized in section, this performing center with its interior hybrid auditorium for multi purpose usage and open air exterior hall is connecting Karlsplatz with Opera on the Ring through deformation of structural system. This branching structural system is linearly and gradually scaling from large branched volumes holding exterior hall in relation to the park, up to the grid of building blocks on the Ring nesting the inner hall. Its deforming from landscape-like building to straight cubic form, thus not interfering with the urban matrix of the city, but making better local relations on the site. System inspired by nature is morphing from volumes, crating space inside them, to porous dens structure defining space around them. It grows from horizontal floor plates to vertical façade surfaces. There is a special definition of going to/through opera ritual. Branching structure is directing various scenarios in the path from entrance and lobby to foyers and halls. Where the function defines denser populated areas such as entry to the hall, structure becomes denser as well. Façade is creating different light conditions with its higher-lower populated apertures. In these conditions occupants are constantly facing the element of surprise on the exposed stage of the city.
